Training Program Approval
National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP)

Credentialing of programs has also been examined as an alternative for agencies with large groups of volunteer staff who may or may not choose to seek credentialing on an individual basis. A state victim assistance academy (SVAA) or an agency or training program’s pre-service training (that is in compliance with the required minimum 40 hours of basic training, for example) and its ongoing efforts to make continuing education available to its participants or staff through in-service, local, state and/or national training, may have its training program approved by NACP. The training program curriculum must be submitted to NACP for consideration of pre-approval status and would also be reviewed every two years with evidence that the training curriculum still meets the minimum 40-hour basic training requirement.

Interested training programs should submit their curriculum to NACP for review and approval at anytime by mailing to: NACP Review Committee; c/o NOVA; 510 King Street; Suite 424; Alexandria, VA 22314.
