  • Metropolitan Washington DC - September 11, 2001. Terrorist attack on the Pentagon. 64 people on American Flight 77 died, as did 125 service members, employees and contract workers in the building.
  • Somerset Pennsylvania - September 11, 2001. NOVA-Affiliate team responds to the crash of United Flight 93, crashed in a thwarted terrorist attack. Forty-five people on board died.
  • Metropolitan New York City - September 17, 2001. Terrorist attack on the World Trade Center towers. 65 passengers and crew of United Flight; 175 died, as did 92 on American Flight 11. Nearly 3,000 people, including hundreds of rescue workers, died with the burning and implosion of the towers.
